A high standard of computer literacy and attention to detail is required as the successful applicant will liaise with customers and brand manufacturers, co-ordinate service bookings, assist with mechanical repairs (if experienced) and manage staff and training within the workshop.

Agricultural Mechanics – Narrogin

We require experienced Agricultural Mechanics to join our expanding Service Department.

Applicants must possess:

  • Mechanical Trade Qualifications
  • Hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with computer diagnostic programs
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of harvest, hay and seeding equipment and previous experience with the New Holland brand would be advantageous but not essential.

Geoff Perkins Farm Machinery Centre is a well-established business specialising in sales and servicing of farming and agriculture machinery. Stocking a wide variety of new and used machines including large square balers, hay equipment, tractors and power equipment.
Situated in Narrogin, the business services and supplies parts for everything from small engines to large agricultural machinery.

About the Role
We have a permanent opportunity for a Financial Controller/ General Manger who will oversee the day to day accounting
and finance activities. Reporting directly to the owner, Geoff Perkins, this is a crucial role that will oversee the technical and compliance aspects of the business but also have input into commercial decision making.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
o General Accounting including accounts payable and receivable;
o Payroll Functions;
o Tax Compliance (BAS, PAYG, Payroll Tax)
o Balance Sheet Reconciliations;
o Cashflow management and forecasting;
o Budgets;
o Managing and working with a growing team; and
o Ensuring that the profits of the organisation are protected through the establishment of effective financial controls, implementing and maintaining appropriate management accounting and reporting systems, budgetary controls and expenditure procedures.
This hands-on role will require someone who is willing and prepared for the responsibility that comes with such a broad position
and can demonstrate strong initiative and problem solving abilities.

Selection Criteria
o Tertiary qualifications in finance and accounting;
o Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role;
o A comprehensive knowledge of accounting fundamentals;
o Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills;
o Previous leadership experience;
o Advanced excel skills;
o Experience working in Agribusiness is desirable; and
o Experience with the accounting and business software Pentana Solutions is desirable.
